The aim of the department is to train professional staff with practical knowledge, especially in the fields of banking and insurance. Our approach is to ensure that graduates adapt to working life even without having work experience. For this reason, emphasis is placed on practical courses in the programs.

Banks and insurance are the most important financial institutions of modern free market economies. In addition to providing numerous services in their own fields, these institutions also have a social function by providing the financing that companies need. Our department consists of two separate areas: banking and insurance. Banks are basically institutions that collect deposits and provide loans. In addition, they also perform tasks such as making money transfers, issuing letters of guarantee, opening letters of credit and providing foreign trade financing, performing foreign exchange transactions and managing portfolios. Today, banks have started to perform transactions such as options, swaps and futures transactions. Banks are also divided into different types according to the work they do, such as trade, investment and development banks. We know that international banking also plays a very important role in the globalization process. A banker is a professional who has knowledge and expertise about these transactions.

Insurance companies provide insurance to their customers in many different areas: in our daily lives, we know that there are many types of insurance such as health, life, traffic, earthquake, agriculture, natural disaster, accident, etc. Since insurance companies operate in a hierarchical order at the international level with the application of reinsurance, they also have international dimensions. An insurance agent is a professional who has knowledge and expertise about all insurance transactions and services. Our department's curriculum includes common courses required for both banking and insurance. Specialization in only one of the two areas will be achieved through elective courses determined starting from the second year.

Fields of Study: Since students receive basic information specific to Banking and Insurance as well as information on business disciplines, they will be able to advance to higher level management positions over time, depending on their success and self-development. The language of instruction in this program is Turkish.

In this program, which provides education as formal and evening education, students can work in different departments of banks such as treasury, individual transactions, operations, insurance companies or insurance agencies during the internship period and can be employed in these fields when they graduate.
